The NISGS is the student body of the Nigerian Institution of Surveyors, and it comprises of all students studying the profession of Surveying and Geoinformatics in tertiary institutions across the country.
The NISGS, is currently under the supervision of the Young Surveyors Network has amongst its goals, to expose surveying students to experiences and opportunities that is in line with best practices the world over, to provide a forum for interaction at the professional level and to foster synergy amongst young professionals in the Surveying and Geoinformatics industry. Currently the institution is operational in all academic institutions offering Surveying and Geoinformatics. Our activities are overseen by the Young Surveyors Network, which is a subgroup of the Nigerian Institution of Surveyors (NIS) in every State where the tertiary institution offering Surveying and Geoinformatics is located.
- As a student body, we recognize the need to work for the promotion of national and international opportunities and experiences for student surveyors in Nigeria, to expose future surveyors to the corporate image of the Surveying profession through seminars, sensitization exercises, workshops, etc. and to improve student surveyors awareness of and involvement in activities of the NIS, Surveyors Council of Nigeria (SURCON) and the International Federation of Surveyors (FIG).
